Art School
Faithfully reproduced from my father’s design drawings made at The Municipal School of Arts and Crafts, Wolverhampton in 1939. Strong nostalgic influences of Art Nouveau and Art Deco. What caught my eye was the consistency with which each particular character was formed: every ‘R’ like every other, every ‘S’ the same. Tight letter spacing and loose word spacing characterised his titling but he didn’t trust himself to print without first ruling guidelines, a hint of which remain in this font.
Autocode
Autocode is a highly legible monospaced font based on Autobahn, ideal for coding and wherever mono spacing is required. It also works effectively as a general text font.
Backstage
Backstage is a bold sans serif stencil with subtly rounded corners.
Blocksta
Based on the character shapes of Atria Bold, Blocksta is a bullish rough cut sans with extensive language support. Hopefully it won’t start another cold war.
Fiendstar Cameo
Fiendstar Cameo adds a titling variant to Fiendstar. Initially created as a text font for use in schools books by less able readers, Fiendstar has been developed into a family of widths, weights and styles.
Fiendstar Outline
Fiendstar Outline adds a titling variant to Fiendstar. Initially created as a text font for use in schools books by less able readers, Fiendstar has been developed into a family of widths, weights and styles.
Fiendstar Shaded
Fiendstar Shaded adds a titling variant to Fiendstar. Initially created as a text font for use in schools books by less able readers, Fiendstar has been developed into a family of widths, weights and styles.
Kensington
Kensington is derived from a logo which was designed to bring a high-class retailer into the second millennium. It is based loosely on the strokes of Sabon, but has influences of Gill Sans. The result is a strong titling font.
Lamoreli
Lamoreli is a strong rounded face that provides high impact in a non-aggressive way. It is suitable for display, titling and headlines. It retains integrity even when considerably expanded or condensed.
Midas
Midas is an outlined form of Lamoreli, suitable for display, titling and headlines.
Norwich
Norwich is a grungy version of the font Tenison and provides real blobby pen handwriting.
Outrage
Outrage is highly disfigured to the verge of illegibility. The base font is Fiendstar Bold Condensed and the distress pattern is derived from a series of semi-abstract paintings. The result screams.
Rosie
Rosie is a chunky but elegant pen script with useful OpenType features. In non Opentype-savvy applications it still works well as a joined script.
Tenison
Tenison is school writing. Lower case characters link with each other, just as we were taught. It posseses much better legibility than we expected – in fact it has quite a sophisticated appearance and can be used for large amounts of block copy.
